Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with José Ángel Gurria, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
They discussed how Canada's G7 Presidency can advance economic growth that benefits everyone. In particular, the Prime Minister welcomed the valuable contribution made by the OECD at the G7 Employment and Innovation Ministerial Meeting held in Montréal.
The Prime Minister and the Secretary-General also discussed the challenges that Caribbean and small island states face in accessing financing to make their infrastructure more resilient. The Prime Minister highlighted his recent discussion with Caribbean leaders on the issue while at the Summit of the Americas in Lima, Peru.
Finally, Prime Minister Trudeau commended the excellent policy analysis the OECD undertakes on international economic and social issues.
