Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez.
They discussed the strong bilateral relationship between Canada and Spain, including strong military cooperation through the Canada-led multinational battle group in Latvia as part of NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence.
Prime Minister Trudeau and Prime Minister Sánchez also discussed measures to address gender equality. They agreed to continue to expand the bilateral trade relationship under the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement. They also discussed other trade negotiations, the situation in Venezuela, and developments in Europe.
