In 2016, the Government of Canada launched the biggest infrastructure plan in Canadian history. Since then, we have invested in and approved hundreds of infrastructure projects to expand highways, build new roads, and improve existing routes – making traveling safer and easier for drivers across the country.
The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today highlighted progress made on the project to extend Maley Drive in Sudbury, Ontario. This project involves building and updating roads to create a new, much-needed arterial link connecting the east side to the west side of the city.
With construction under way, the project will continue to create good, middle class jobs. Once completed, it will reduce commute times, improve commuter safety, and support business development in the area. It will also protect the environment and help keep local residents healthy by reducing emissions from vehicle congestion and traffic delays.
