Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke today with President Emmanuel Macron of France.The Prime Minister and President Macron discussed progressive trade, including the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada and the European Union, trade in steel and aluminum, and the importance of supporting the rules-based multilateral trading system. They exchanged views on the current political situation in Europe. They also discussed planning for the next G7 Summit, which Canada is hosting June 8-9, 2018, in Charlevoix, Québec.
