Martine Hébert is a renowned economist, former Quebec diplomat, and public figure with over 25 years of experience in economic relations, governance, and public affairs.
Ms. Hébert is currently a media commentator on economic issues as well as Vice-President, Expert in Economic and U.S. Affairs at public affairs firm TACT, in Montréal, Quebec. Between 2019 and 2024, she served as Quebec’s Delegate to Chicago and later to New York City, where she contributed to the economic development of Quebec and Canada. She was previously Senior Vice-President and National French Spokesperson for the Canadian Federation of Independent Business for nearly 10 years. Previously, Ms. Hébert worked at her own public affairs firm and was a lecturer at the Université de Montréal, the Director of Government and Professional Affairs for the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés du Québec, and an advisor on provincial policy.
Ms. Hébert is also known for her leadership as well as her ability to balance diverse interests and act as a changemaker, having served on various boards and committees. She has been an associate commissioner for the Great Lakes Commission, a member of the Board for the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail, a member of the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail du Québec, co-chair of the Comité-conseil sur l’allègement réglementaire et administratif du Québec, and a member of Quebec’s Advisory Committee on Labour and Workforce. She has also done community work for many years, notably as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Centre des femmes du Plateau Mont-Royal.
Ms. Hébert holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Master of Economics from the Université de Montréal. She has been recognized for her achievements, notably by the Université de Montréal, which awarded her an honorary degree in recognition of her outstanding career in 2010. She was also recently named an Invited Fellow at the Centre for Interuniversity Research and Analysis on Organizations.
