Caroline Maynard holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Université de Sherbrooke, and is a member of the Québec Bar. A highly regarded lawyer and senior executive, she is also fluently bilingual.
Ms. Maynard’s legal career with the Government of Canada spans 20 years during which time she assumed progressively senior leadership positions.
Since January 2017, Ms. Maynard has been serving as Interim Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Military Grievances External Review Committee. Prior to this, she served as Director General of Operations and General Counsel with the Review Committee for 11 years. From 2001 to 2006, she was Legal Counsel for the Office of the Judge Advocate General at the Department of National Defence. From 1998 to 2001, she held the position of Legal Counsel with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police External Review Committee. Prior to this, she worked with the Canada Revenue Agency and in private practice.
